what we're up to

4.9.8
scott wrote a new blog, his first in over a year(but don't get too excited, it's not that interesting). we're pretty much settled in in grand rapids. wendi is still working part-time through a temp agency and scott is loving his greek class. we're starting to get excited about alaska, and we should be heading that way in just over two weeks. stops are planned for chicago, colorado and missoula.
3.10.8
we moved to grand rapids and got an apartment a couple weeks ago. wendi is working part-time through a temp agency and scott is sitting in on a second semester greek class for the remainder of the semester so he can jump straight into second year greek when he goes to grand valley state university to finish his bachelor's degree in the fall.
1.17.8
scott has spent the first 16 days of the new year sicker than he's ever been before. and it seems (as of yesterday) that wendi is now joining the club. we hope to have this bug licked by february.
12.14.7
our time in paris is coming to a close. after this we will be in texas for a few days to celebrate an early christmas and then off to michigan for christmas and a long cold winter working outdoors!

hello, friends and family! and welcome to this, scott and wendi's very own internet webpage. this is the first webpage scott has ever designed, so it is all very experimental and still under heavy construction. if you have any comments about what you'd like to see on this page, please feel free to send us your comments and suggestions to: scott@scottandwendi.com or wendi@scottandwendi.com.

a little about us

for those of you that we haven't kept in touch with quite as well as we should have liked, this is what we're up to these days.

scott and wendi were married june 18, 2005 in kingston, mi, after which we took a five-day honeymoon to the dominican republic. upon arriving home and returning to the daily grind, we found, much to our surprise, that we hate work. not our particular jobs at the moment, but just work in general. so we decided to stop working and travel the world instead.

our global trek began january 27th, 2006. the first leg of the trip has taken us through 30 or so of these united states (as well as 3 canadian provinces) visiting friends and family, ultimately ending up in alaska for a four-month "work-holiday" where we have seasonal jobs near denali national park.

the second leg of our trip (november 2006-march 2007) took us through central and south america for five months of fun with spanish, followed by another long, arduous summer in alaska.

since september of '07, we've been all over. we spent the few weeks leading up to thanksgiving in texas, the three weeks between thanksgiving and christmas in paris and the rest of the winter in michigan. we moved to grand rapids in february and got an apartment. in august scott starts classes at grand valley state university so he can finally get his bachelor's degree. but first, another summer in alaska.

current possible plans for the distant future include:

these are all in the "we'd like to do someday" category and we'll let you know when we actually take steps toward making them happen.
